LWT-Top Innovator 2016

Innovation price 2016

At the Gala of Top 100 – LWT GmbH one of the most innovative companies in Germany

The company develops, designs and sells gates made of air. They consist of a system of fans and nozzles and protect the rooms from warm air, dust and unpleasant odors. Only 15 mm thick – this  air wall is used for example at the entrance of department stores, at the gates of malodorous waste companies or sensitive film manufacturers. While traditional air curtains consume a lot of heat and energy, the fan-operated air walls are up to 80 percent more powerful and therefore more environmentally friendly. The innovative strength of the family-owned company with ten employees, founded in 1999, is also reflected in the fact that it generates half of its turnover with market innovations. More than 4,000 companies were interested in taking part in the Top 100 this year. 366 of them applied for the qualifying round. Of these, 284 entered the final round. 238 eventually made the leap into the top 100 (maximum 100 in each of the three size classes). The companies were again evaluated by Prof. dr. Nikolaus Franke and his team from the Chair of Entrepreneurship and Innovation of the Vienna University of Economics and Business. They asked more than 100 parameters in five assessment categories: “Innovation-Promoting Top Management”, “Innovation Climate”, “Innovative Processes and Organization”, “Innovation Marketing / External Focus” and “Innovation Success”. Among the top 100 companies are 97 national market leaders and 32 world market leaders. On average, they have recently achieved 40 percent of their turnover with market innovations and product improvements. Their sales growth was 28 percentage points above the respective industry average. Together, SMEs have registered 2,292 national and international patents over the past three years. This innovative power also pays off in jobs: The Top 100 are planning to hire around 9,500 new employees over the next three years. (RM)

Air Curtain – What´s that?

If you want to keep warm air, dust, odor or insects indoors or outdoors, it is best to install an air wall as barrier-free completion to open doors – which is more flexible and more energy efficient.
